Having lived in a flat in Islington for the past few years, Vickie was determined to save up for a deposit to buy a home in her desired part of town. Familiar with shared ownership, Vickie visited the London Home Show and realised she was financially ready to take her first step onto the property ladder. Vickie goes on to explain: “After learning more about shared ownership, I came to realise that it was definitely right for me and the best possible way to get onto the property ladder comfortably. I wanted to stay in London and would have had to move quite far out to find something that was affordable for me.”
Situated in a picturesque and tranquil setting in Islington, Vickie goes on to explain how she discovered Hyde New Homes and knew she would be able to find her perfect home through them. She continues: “I got chatting to Hyde New Homes at the show and saw a brochure on Packington Square and I instantly knew that it was the development for me – from its stunning location to the high specification of the apartments. I knew I wanted to stay in Islington, especially because I work in the City and wanted to be nearby. The area also has a range of independent shops, cafés and a great library.”
Wasting no time, Vickie registered on the Hyde New Homes website and filled out an application form, to see if she could apply formally. She explains: “There were hundreds of people applying and I didn’t think I had much of chance, but I met all the criteria and was told I was on the waiting list. Two weeks later I was called and offered my first choice flat. This was on 25 May and I moved in nine weeks later!” Boasting about Hyde New Homes’ “brilliant” service, Vickie was extremely happy with her purchasing experience.
Impressed with the final viewing of the home before she moved in, Vickie liked the idea of moving into a new build, having previously rented. She continues: “Everyone was really thorough and the manual introduces you to your new home – but it’s not written like an instruction manual for a washing machine – it really tells you how things work. Another big selling point was the apartment’s balcony. It’s like having an extra room, it’s great to have some outside space. My apartment is perfect, it’s a blank canvas and you can do whatever you want to it – within reason – something you can’t do when you’re renting.”
