If you’re after ways of making your home sparkle this Christmas season, we have teamed up with award-winning Suna Interior Design to share 4 of their top styling tips on how to decorate your home this festive season.
Charlotte Stevenson from Suna Interior Design is sharing her secrets on how to infuse some festive styling into any home by decorating our beautiful four bed show home at Whitstable Heights, a growing neighbourhood in the popular Kent coastal town of Whitstable.
When selecting new decorative accents, take a look at the colours and materials that make up your home to help determine the type of decorations to source. The aim is to complement the existing colours and finishes so that they become a cohesive extension of your interior style. For example, if your space is sleek and modern, a minimalistic tree with simple, elegant decorations can be perfect.
If you are including a pop of colour to your tree, select your coloured baubles first to give you a base to work from so you can pair it with an eclectic mix of others. Here, we selected a variety of green and teal baubles to add depth to the Christmas tree that have a soft, luxe feel to emulate the sophisticated pieces of furniture.
When placing your hanging decorations on your tree, try to maintain a sense of balance by placing the larger baubles at the bottom of the tree and placing the more delicate pieces as you work your way up to the top.
You may like to fully embrace a look such as ‘coastal’ or ‘rustic’ to create a sense of harmony and purpose to your décor over the festive period such as the hand-made, natural wooden decorations found on the Whitstable tree. Even better, organise a local walk with your family and search for interesting pieces, such as driftwood, seashells etc to complete the look.
Opt for warm white LEDs to enhance the cosiness of your room. We also love the floating LED candles that are a popular choice this year! They create a dazzling display when paired with glass decorations that beautiful reflect the ambient light.
So, go ahead and celebrate the season with Christmas decorations that not only sparkle but also blend seamlessly with your room’s aesthetic. Happy Decorating! – Charlotte Stevenson
